Hi Liz and all, The Barber Cemetery is indeed in Otto. It is also called the Dake Hill Cemetery. It's located on the southeast corner of Hebner Hill Rd. and Dake Hill Rd. Unfortunately, I don't see it listed on the Cattaraugus Co. GenWeb site. A quick letter or call to the Cattaraugus Co. Historical Museum and Research Library may get you the answer, though. They have most to all of the cemeteries in Cattaraugus Co. indexed. I believe it was a project in the 1930's. Here is the information to make contact with them: Cattaraugus Area Historical Museum and Research Library 302 Court Street Little Valley, NY 14755 Phone: 716 938-9111, ext 2440 Fax: 716 938-6009 Mailing: 302 Court Street, Little Valley, NY, 14755 Good Luck! I am looking for info on Horace Conners and his wife, Lucretia. In 1860, they were in Yorkshire. They had at least the following children: Jenny b 1871 Inez b 1873 Bernice b 1881
I am looking for other researchers familiar with the family of Philander and Lydia Beach. I have what I believe to be probably a listing of their children and some descendant information for those children. I would like to compare information on these descendants and also find out when/where Philander and Lydia Beach died and are buried.

I'd love to see the pictures. My grandfather Robert Schott (Julia Kenndy and Erwin Schott) was born in Tidoute. So the family was in that area for awhile for sure. I believe one of his uncles owned or ran the Olean Hotel at some point too. I've also heard Oil City and Smethport mentioned in family history. (and something about one of the men being run out of town (Smethport maybe) and told not to go back or he'd get arrested. He went back...that's all I know)

My grandmother Teresa(Tess) Dongian was the best friend of Agnes Kennedy. I knew her as Ag My grandmother and Aggie went to school together in Dunkirk NY. My grandmother later lived with theKennedy family at their home at 15 Winters Street. I always wonder how the two met but after reading this obit, I can see where thye might have met in Oil City, PA. My grandmother's family lived in Oil City, Tidoute and Titusville between 1900-1918. Then moved to Olean I have a photo album from the 1913-1918 that has several group shots of people and Ag is probably in the snaps. Another story in the family is that my grandfather Bill Donigan wanted to marry Ag but she turned him down and he married my grandmother. I don't have much else to tell but if interested, please contact me.

This cemetery is land locked, and probably no one ever goes there but State Conversation men and hunters who stumble onto it during various hunting seasons. Mother Nature has taken very good care of this site, which is remarkably well preserved. You will need a guide into this site. It is a long ways north and west of the intersection of the Forty Road and the Wickham Road, on State land. It is surrounded by a fence, and four big maple trees. The stones are intact and upright and readable. It is very remote, pollution and delinquents haven't gotten to it, and that's why it's in such good condition. There are 15 stones (representing more people) all members of the Ross family, and include the names: Green and Capron in addition to Ross...all inside the fence. One stone, outside the fence, is for "Patsy Dog" who died in 1908.
