The 1870 census shows one Ann Worden residing in Yorkshire. She is 51 years old, born NY. Residing with her are David Worden, 31 yrs, farmer, b NY; Fred Worden, 26 yrs, farmer, b NY; Warren Worden, 19 yrs, farmer, b NY; Mary Worden, 20 yrs, keeping house, b NY. Does anyone know who this family was? Thank you, Brenda
I believe Mason C. Langmade's wife was Flora Langmade. Does anyone know what Flora's maiden name was? Does anyone know who the "Mrs. Mary Worden of this place" is? What was her maiden name? What Worden did she marry? I do believe Ashley Giles Packard had a brother Charles H. Packard who married Lucy Serena Rumsey the daughter of Alanson Rumsey who was the next farm to John and Rebecca Packard in 1830. I think possibly that Ashley Giles was removed from the house by the 1840 census, possible working for one of the locals. John Packard died in 1842 and neither Ashley or Charles are in the household by 1850. Charles is in Tioga and you know the whereabouts of Ashley. Do you have and thoughts on this? I do believe that the parents of Charles Packard was John Packard and Rebecca Rose. Please view the following census. In 1830, 2 males under 5 and one male between 5 and 10. The two males under 5 were Charles born in 1825 and Daniel Packard b. 1827 One male between 5 and 10 was Ashley Giles Packard b. 1824. By 1840, 2 males were under 5. They were James b. 1835 and Albert b. 1839. One male over 5 under 10 was Nehemiah b. 1829. I figure his birth date is later than when the census record was taken. Also in 1840 two males were over 10 under 15. That would have been Daniel b 1827 and Charles b. 1825. I believe Ashley Giles Packard was out of the house by 1840. Charles Snitchler

Three of their children were: William Miller who married Charity Viola Edwards, Hattie Miller who married Horace Shaver, and Louisa Miller who married Charles Dopkins. Other possible children were Samuel, Dave and Polly. The story passed through the family was that Lyman and Cordelia died and their children were adopted. My great grandfather, William, was said to have been adopted by the Fairbanks or Comstock family.
