There are historical atlases for many of the NYS counties for various years. I don't recall if there are any in those early timeframes. These atlases don't show lots per se but show roads, streams, township boundaries, schoolhouse locations for the various townships. They have dots for homes and a name beside it. I don't recall if it's the name of the owner or the name of the occupant. Often the name is first initial/last name only or stuff like Mrs Kimball. I have a copy of the 1860 town of villenova page. The Buffalo and Erie Co Public Library has a nice collection of these atlases. Many of the smaller libraries will have an atlas for their specific county. Since these are normally reference materials, they may not be available via inter-library loan. Libraries maybe willing to copy specific pages for normal photocopy charges. I am back online at home and finally able to do some look-ups. Please email me directly at [email protected] with your requests as it is too tedious to scan each nycattaraugus condensed email to look for them. I would appreciate it. Nancy Hanes
Is anyone in the Cattaraugus County doing research on the Guilford Jerome Eddy (1853-1901) family? Guildord was married to Caressa (Ketchum) Wilkes (1832-1902). They had eight children. I can research 7 of them, but the one I need is: Frank Adelbert Eddy, born September 11, 1856 in Springville, Cattaraugus, NY. In the 1860 Census he is living with parents in Hanover, Chatauqua, NY. In the 1870 Census he is living as a laborer on the farm of Aramel Nash, Persia, Cattaraugus, NY. After that we found several census for a Frank A. Eddy, divorced, in South Bend, St Joseph, IN. I would appreciate any help I can get. Thank you, Iris Colbert irisdfisch#aol.com
Are there any maps for Perrysburg in the time frame of 1820-1850? I'm looking specifically for a lot map for that time. Thanks, Mary
Does anyone know anything about a Luther Wood, who owned part of lot 46 in 1833? Thanks, Mary

I sent this directly to Mary Ann, but it was returned to me. Perhaps someone else will find it of interest. ****************************************************************************** * Mary Ann, I wondered if anyone ever responded to your Boardman query. I do have an Alonzo in my database. I don't know if he will be helpful or not. Alonzo Boardman s/o Jonathan Boardman and Dorcas Banfield was born ca 1826 probably (but not necessarily) in Danby, Tompkins County. He married Sarah A. Hollister d/o Gideon Hollister and Hannah Bates. Both Alonzo and Sarah were in the 1900 census, but did not appear in the 1910. I would like to know if these Boardmans are of any interest to you. Regards, Georgia Whitson

I thought I might have one of Caroline's first husband, John, but I am not sure it is him. He died in the civil war, in Benton Barracks, Missouri, in 1861 and is buried in the Sharon Cemetery in Whiteside County, Illinois. There is evidence that Caroline filed for his pension, but I don't know that she got it. I have a copy somewhere with her and Joel Ewing's names on it. If you have a picture that you can scan and share with me, I will look through mine to see if I can possibly match a face. Pam Smith

I too am a descendant of Betsy Munger. I would like clarification on the following, please. Betsy was dau of Luman and Julia Adams Hines. However, I would like to know who Lyman Mungers parents were? Who is Orange 5th, Lewis 4th, Jonathan 3rd, John 2nd, Nicholas 1st)? Are these Munger generations with Nicholas being 1st generation, John, 2nd generation, Jonathan 3rd generation, Lewis 4th generation, and Orange 5th generation? This doesn't seem correct if as you say, Nicholas was first son of John Munger b. East Parish Guilford, CT April 26, 1660. Please help me understand. Thanks. Nancy

For all of you who requested cemetery look-ups, I live in the area that was hard hit by the freak snowstorm that occurred last Thursday and Friday in Buffalo, NY. I do not have Adelphia cable at home and am sending this email from work. We may not have cable for a few days, so please continue to be patient and I will get to your requests. Thank you. Surnames: Whipple, Knowles Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/RRB.2ACE/7536 Message Board Post: I am looking for the marriage record of Thomas Whipple and Polly M. Knowles. They are found in the 1850 US Census, New York, Cattaraugus Co., in the town of Persia. Thomas (Whiple) with wife Polly and daughter Rosetta, 2. So I am guessing that they would have been married sometime in 1847 or early 1848. I am looking for Thomas' parents, they are my brickwall. Thomas, Polly and 3 of their children are found in 1860 in Barry Co., Michigan. Polly is apparently the daughter of Aaron Knowles, they are found next door to this family in both the 1850 and 1860 census. Thomas was born sometime between 1825-1827 in New York. Most of the census records show him being born 1825 but one shows a different age in other records. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Cindi
