I also found his wife's obituary which gives more information: OBITUARY: Lib MI Newspapers on Microfilm. Charlotte Tribune, Charlotte MI Wed 17 Jan 1894 pg.1. Mary Ann Peters, widow of the late George Peters, in the 84th year of her age, at the residence of her son, Charles D. Peters, in Carmel. Funeral Tuesday, Jan 16, 11 am at residence. Mrs. Peters together with her husband and family, was one of the first settlers of Eaton Co. They moved from Catteragus (sic, probably Cattaraugus) County, NY to Washtenaw County this state, thence to Livonia, Wayne Co and finally to Eaton Co in 1842, where she has since lived until overtaken by the grim messenger. At the time of her advent into this county the whole country hereabouts was one vast wilderness, containing not more than 2 or 3 dwellings, and travel was effected only by aid of marked trees. Deceased was the mother of 11 children (5 boys & 6 girls) nine of whom survive her. Se was early baptized in the close communion Baptist church, but later joined the Christian church and was fervent! christian and friendly neighbor. In 1848 she partially lost the use of her limb but was able to move about till the latter part of last Aug, when she was taken ill and confined to her bed, from which she was destined never again to rise. Please reply to me if you have any information you would like to share.

    3. They are all related. Do you have Lathrop Beebe ( m. Abigail Eleanor Alger) -this the line of another cousin. There are LOTS of Beebes in Freedom, Elton, Delevan, Sandusky and the surrounding area... you should see the cemeteries! Our Beebe lines stayed in Paris and there is little in documentation other than census. The way we figure it, the Beebe, Hancock, Alger and Brown families moved across to the Rochester area (lots in W. Bethany) and then south to Boston Erie County and to Cattaraugus between 1820 and 1840. Our Browns ( and the other related families - those 4 are my husban's 3rd g-grandparents) were in Elton 1820 +/- 5 years and the Hancocks in Yorkshire by 1830 ( on two sides of the town line). We just need to prove the births in MA and Paris NY. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Thursday, December 21, 2006 9:45 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [NYCATTAR] NYCATTAR Digest, Vol 1, Issue 71 I have a Beebe Family from Cattaraugus County...Stephen ( son of Lyman Clark) and Sarah Badman Beebe and their children. 3. Attn: Fredandjp - Jabez( b. 1728)and Rachel (Wright) Hancock are the parents of Jabez (b. 1753) Hancock (Jr) and Temperance Beebe. Both Jabez' are in the Longmeadow MA census of 1790. [Citations other than census: I have the article from NEGHS which details the " removed to Paris NY", also Springfield Families by Thomas Warren which details the family in MA ( Longmeadow split from Springfield in the 1780s, their records are not transcribed - the Hancock family " disappears" before they move to Paris) which cites the son Jabez still owning land in MA in 1793; and the Adah Beebe Seger Beebe, Beebee, Beeby document which covers all the Beebes of New London CT; Temperance ( Tamme) is listed as married to Jabez Hanocck Jr.) In the 1790 census they have a dau., Tammie ( who marries a Kibbe later) but the Jabez I am hunting is not born until 1793-97. If you search the Town of Paris censuses, Jabez Hancock shows up until 1810. ( This is Jabez m. Temperance.) In 1800, their son is in Boston Erie County NY, soon to be marrying Eleanor Alger and 2 children are born Boston and then 2 in Yorkshire Cattaraugus Co, NY - one of those is my husband's 2nd g-grnadmother. If you search the Beebe, Beebee, Beeby doc., you will most likely find your Rachel and Kibbes in the census of 1790. These docs ( the Springfield one and the Beebe one are .pdf and won't post ( I tried). Give me your e-mail and I will send. My problem is I have to get the Vitals of Longmeadow covering 1790s to prove birth of the other children of Jabez and Temperance. This is the information I have on Rachel: Samuel KIBBE (5), sone of James(4) and Anna KIBBE KIBBE, was born May 21, 1753, near Somers, CT. He was married April 11, 1778, to Rachel HANCOCK. She was born October 30, 1758, the daughter of Jabes and Rachel WRIGHT HANCOCK.
