His last residence was in Salamanca. I haven't even been able to find the right wife on the SSDI, as his wife's name was Mary (VESNESKI), but I'd like to locate that, too. Seems Salamanca is pretty small, and I'm not sure if they have their own newspaper. Does anyone know which newspaper would be the most likely source for obits for Salamanca residents?

Benjamin F. Thurber's (b. 1838) states in his civil war pension application that he believed the bible was destroyed in a house fire at the home of his sister, Elizabeth Mason. He seemed uncertain about whether it was really lost or not. In any case, he had a copy of the bible records. I have a copy of the bible records, too, as a descendant of Wm. B. Thurber-Charles Thurber-Maude Thurber.

Looking for info on the PREDGO family from OLEAN,NY , John Predgo , b. July 1894 , obit said he was born in Olean and his brother Paul was living there in 1979.I believe Paul is the Paul PREDGO that died 1981.I already have contacted a researcher there to look it up. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Jessie L. LUTHER which was taken at the W. C. Winsor Studio in Olean, New York. The photograph is dated July 19, 1895 with Jessie appear to be in her teens at the time it was taken. Thanks to limited research and the assistance of a HOLMES family researcher I believe that Jessie married Mark Milton HOLMES who was the son of Elba HOLMES. I am hoping to locate someone from her family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family.
