His father, Louis A. Presutti, played for the former Olean Oilers minor league baseball team. The Oilers left Olean in 1962. But memories of that time remain. Mr. Presutti said the film crew shooting the film "American Pastime" plans to interview John "Kook" Padlo, 94, of Olean. Mr. Padlo grew up with Mr. Presutti's father. He also pitched for the former Welch's bar club team in 1937, '38 and '39. Mr. Presutti said the film crew wants to capture Mr. Padlo's experience as an early 20th century ballplayer and his encyclopedic knowledge of the teams and players who dominated the early days of the game. "There is no greater wealth of knowledge of baseball as it was played in the 1920s, the '30s and the '40s than Kook Padlo," Mr. Presutti said. so, research this stuff, go to the library, take notes, post more questions Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Tiffany, Utica...Cooperstown N.Y." Approx 1000 pages, with beautiful woodcut engravings. The family record sections are filled in with a family Geneology that starts in 1810 and goes all the way up to 1963. The familys appear to be of Welsh descent: the names are Lewis, Williams, Hughes Etc. Included are Kuffin Lewis born 1820 (married Eleizabeth(, William Henry Lewis born 1843, Jane Elizabeth Lewis born 1847, John Hughes born 1850, Thamao Newton Hughes born 1854, Hariett Louise Hughes born 1856, Hughes Hughes born 1840, Robert Williams born 1856, Carlos D. Also included is a legal Will (see last picture), dating from 1894 concerning the estate of David J. Williams, from Cattaraugus County N.Y. The family appears to have been from Western New York, Pittsburgh P.A. is mentioned also. The bible is in pretty good condition for its age: the binding is solid (no loose pages), the front cover is only slightly attatched to the spine, the pages are white with varying degrees of foxing throughout, some occasional creases, little in the way of tears etc.

I didn't even know his wife's name...but my grandmoher's name was Helen!! He had another daughter RoseMarie. As far as know, he never used an americanized name...but seems logical that he might have gone by Tad or Ted?? We always called him DziaDzia (grandfather in polish). It was not until he died that I learned his real name. May I ask how you found this information? Is there a book that will teach me how to do this? I so appreciate the help. It is so fun. I wish I had written things down when he would talk of the old country. I was a child and it was boring to me at the time :( Now, I'd give anything to talk to him again. I'll file this with my Wakefield info and should I come across additional info that looks like it would be helpful will forward it to you. I'm not actively working on that line right now, so if you have a permanent "address" at which you can be reached let me know so you aren't lost in cyberspace! Hi Pat, I can tell you a little about Dexter Wakefield, but all the "littles" count up - Right? Dexter Wakefield was the younger brother of my great grandfather's first wife, Zilpha Wakefield. Zilpha died (at the birth of their second child) in 1859. Dexter was born about 1833 and in 1861 married Mary O. Ingraham. Their marriage date was 21 Feb 1861. They were married in Portville, Cattaraugus County, NY. Dexter was a son of Alpheus Wakefield and Submitte Keith. I probably can't tell you much more, but will be happy to answer any questions you might have if I happen to know the answers. Hope this will be of some assistance in determining how he was a cousin. Good luck in your research. Carol Patricia Zilincik <[email protected]> wrote: Hi Is there any mention of Dexter Wakefield?
