My ancestor, Joseph Littell, died in 1821 in NY. Per his death record, he was buried in Brick Church. I have read that when the church building was sold in 1856, bodies were removed to the Evergreens, unless the family preferred to reinter on its own. Question: is there a disinterment list somewhere? (Evergreens hasn't responded to my inquiry.) Additionally, his wife, Lucretia Cameron Littell (d. 1827) was buried in St. Stephens churchyard. Similar scenario, later dates. Have not had any luck with ancestry or familysearch. Any help much appreciated.
Hi Sue, You can try the Brooklyn Free Pages, formerly of the Brooklyn List. If there's nothing there for this, there may be reference that will put you on the right track. You can also try Familysearch.org in the event that something may be there, Good luck- Marie On Wed, May 31, 2017 at 9:06 AM, Sue Johnpeter <suejohnpeter@gmail.com> wrote: > My ancestor, Joseph Littell, died in 1821 in NY.
