See their page at <https://www.reclaimtherecords.org/> for links to the browsable images. -- Mary On 12/2/17 10:28 AM, Diane Jacobs wrote: > If he didn't die in NYC, then NY State would have the records. > I have seen microfilm of NY State Death indexes at NARA in Manhattan, > but can't remember if they go back to 1862, probably due, but someone > else on this list should know. > > Check out his brother in Chicago using ancestry.com and familysearch.org > > > Diane Jacobs > > -----Original Message----- > From: NYC-ROOTS > [mailto:nyc-roots-bounces+geniediane=comcast.net@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of > Sharon Jameson > Sent: Friday, December 1, 2017 8:03 PM > To: nyc-roots@rootsweb.com > Subject: [NYC-ROOTS] JOHN GORDON d1862 > > Good morning listers > > > > I am very new to American research so was wondering if someone could help me > with where to look for a death record. > > > > A headstone stands in Aberdeen Scotland cemetery stating that JOHN GORDON > died 1862 aged 21.
