Kathleen, It's tough to read, I agree! To me it looks like "East St." One thought I had is that the document shows the relationship to the person that they are going to. Do you know who that person is? If so, you can combine this document with the city directories to confirm the address. Also, if you use Steve Morse's "Unified Census ED Finder," you might find that you can locate the associated 1910 Census that matches the person named in the passenger list (assuming they didn't move prior to the census being enumerated). 1. Go here: https://www.stevemorse.org/census/unified.html?year=1910 2. At the top, change to "1910' 3. Select State = New York, County = New York; City = Manhattan; Street = East 4. It brings up three electoral districts that match, and from there you can review the associated census sheets. Perhaps you can find the cousin/brother mentioned in your passenger list!
