    3. Thanks! Using the quotations and leaving off "hotel" did help me to find some references to it. No real info, but as it turns out, that wasn't my Lebrecht and her Plumer husband. (I later found them in both 1870 and 1880.) I'm glad that I chased Rosanna Lebrecht down, even though I wasn't sure how she fit into my tree. Turns out she is the child enumerated as Calanthe in the 1855 state census and Susana in the 1860 US census.(Her mother Rosena was enumerated as Susana in the 1870 census, so I'm not surprised by the mixup. Where Calanthe came from, though I have no idea.)
