Ancestry has the "Barber Collection" listing New York County, Letters of Administration Index, 1743-1875. How do I find the original (or transcription)? If the listing reads 16-215-0 (for Lucretia Littell), where might I find a transcription? Thanks in advance. Sue
As I said FamilySearch has NY Probate records online. They are browseable, not searchable. You will have to scroll down as there are many types of probate records. I have made a list of the subjects for you. It is the first and last listing of each subject. I am also sending you the link to the page. One last thing I would like to mention, if you don't find the year you are looking for, check back in a couple of months. FamilySearch is adding to its' collections everyday.
