    2. Jackie, Sorry about repeating information that you have already received. I have been gone most of the summer, so I've been backed up on reading emails, and I started reading them with the most recent, so I haven't seen previous postings. I don't know what's worse in quantity... emails or most of the snail mail I get! The reason why I did so much work on the rest of the family, after not finding anything significant on Norman, is that most of the time, you need to do 'cluster' research to get closer to the person you are trying to hone in on. You never know where it will take you and what you will find by clustering. Addresses of relatives can always help in this way. Have you sent away for all of the children's birth certificates? Did you check for all orphanages on Staten Island and New York City for the 1925 census? If not, that's what I would do next. Check out Directory information on Ancestry or www.Footnote.com . For the 1930 census - I did find the son, Anthony, living with a family on Staten Island, as a boarder. Then there are Edward and Albert, living with their cousin on Staten Island. So that leaves Norman and the two young girls, Rose and Rita. So here you go with clustering again. Start looking for Rose and Rita too. There is a good chance that you will find Norman wherever the girls are. I just checked and did find a Norman A. Bahl on the 1930 census for Philadelphia, PA, 39 WD, ED 194. I believe the enumerator spelled it correctly and the transcriber saw the 'u' for an 'a.' He is listed as a US Marine in the Navy Yard. All other information is correct. Do you have this? What I cannot seem to find is the orphanage that Norman A Buhl was placed in after his parents died in 1921 and 1922. Thank You, Jackie
