Jerry i've used TMG - The Master Genealogist for several years.  Has a bit of a learning curve, but Bob Velke also sells "how to" cds.  Once you set this up, you can do almost anything you want with it.  It's very user friendly.  TMG also has User Groups in many areas of the country, and a user group website where you can ask questions and get answers quickly.  Bob's even been know to call you if you're having problems.  Many of the professionals use this program also.   You can download samples of TMG from their website.  Use it for a month.  See how you like it and then purchase.  TMG updates are free unless Bob puts out a new version which he does every 2-4 years, unlike FTM which comes out with a new version each year.
