After having read over 1,000 pages of the 1850 New York City 11th Ward 1200+ pages before finding the family I was seeking, I thought that it might be possible to get some help from this list. I am now looking for that same family in the 1860 Census. The name is Andrew Heinlein and the address is 323 8th Street. Last evening I located what the various districts in the 11th Ward cover. What I don't know is where the address numbers begin - do they start at the East River and head into the city or go from the city toward the East River. If anyone can tell me, I believe I can narrow my search to just one or two districts. I will be most appreciative.
