    2. In the street directory in the 1855 city directory, house numbers 295 through 341 8th St. are in the block between Ave B and Ave C on the south side of the street. Numbers begin at 6th Ave and run east to the East River. From 6th Ave east to 3rd Ave, 8th St was also called Clinton Place, an extension of the Clinton Place running east from Broadway. My GGGF, Michael Keogh/Kehoe, a tailor, might have been the resident at 369 8th St. in the 1860 census, a block over from your ancestor. He was in the 8th Division of the 11th Ward but I'm not sure where the division boundary was.
