For those interested in the early Dutch - try this historical fiction: The Mevrouw Who Saved Manhattan by Bill Greer Set from 1624 -1664  Buy it from the New Netherlands Institute and it's cheaper than the online bookstores, plus it helps support NNI.  Dee in Phoenix When a person dies, a library closes.
