    3. Since we're talking about LDS and NYC cert numbers, I also have a question. I want to get a Manhattan marriage certificate from January 1923. The cert # is 623, Manhattan. When I go to the LDS catalog for relevant years, I get these film titles: Certificates no. 32310-33338 1922 1-250 1922 Certificates no. 250-1500 1922 Certificates no. 1501-2750 1922 Certificates no. 2750-4000 1922 Certificates no. 4001-5000 1922-1923 Certificates no. 5001-6250 1922-1923 Certificates no. 6250-7500 1922-1923 Certificates no. 7501-8750 1922-1923 Certificates no. 8750-10000 1923 Certificates no. 10001-11250 1923 Certificates no. 11250-12250 1923 Certificates no. 12250-13500 1923 etc sequencing down to: Certificates no. 38750-39961 1923 Certificates no. 1-719 1924 It looks like the cert I want should be on one of these 1922-1923 films but the numbers don't make sense. I can't see any place the numbers start over at #1 for 1923. I sent them an email asking about this. The first time I got back advice on how to do basic research. I asked again and got back links to the NY archives. Any suggestions? Do I go to title search or keyword search and what Im looking for is a death cert for Louis Heine died in Manhatten November 17, 1902. Cert. # is 4456. I found the title "Manhatten death certs 1866-1919"..but I cant find the correct cert # for the year of death..Im thinking Im doing it incorrectly. I dont want the index right? >> Thanks. >> Kim >> > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to NYC-ROOTS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > >

    3. Hi Loreen, I took a look. It certainly doesn't make sense. I myself, would do one of two things. Either I would try sending for certificate #6230, thinking perhaps they left the "0" off the end of the number in the index, or I would send the names and ask them to look up the record in the index and see what I got. If you try the first option, it would be: Certificates no. 5001-6250 1922-1923 FHL US/CAN Film 1653737 Please let us know what you find out.
