    3. Hi Everyone, I have been reading messages from listservs about St. Joseph's Female Orphan Asylum, Bklyn, Kings Co, NY‏ and I was wondering if anyone knew whether there was some kind of list of who might have been here in the early 1900s? I have unsuccessfully looked for family members who seem to disappear after the 1900 census. I find some of them listed in documents in 1919 and I have recently found descendants of some, so I know they did not die. They would have been between 8 and 13, in the early part of the 1900s, so they had to be somewhere. I have looked at census records for 1910 and cannot find them. My great grandfather had five children before the two he had with my great grandmother. I cannot find out what happened to their mother, my great grandmother was their stepmother and she remarried sometime after 1900 (when my grandfather was born), so something happened with the marriage (death or divorce?). I found her in the 1910 census remarried and listed with her children from ! my great grandfather (my grandfather and his sister) and two children from her new husband (born between 1904 or 1906 and 1908), but I cannot find my great grandfather nor can I find his other five children from his previous marriage. So when I saw this orphanage, I thought maybe I would try to check records. If a child was in this orphanage, would they have been listed on census records? If so, how would I go about looking for them? I have tried by their individual names without any luck. Could they be listed under the name of the orphanage? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Liz
