I am researching my sister-in-law's family. We have marriage certificates from the City of New York for her great-grandparents (WILLIAM ANDERSON and MAGGIE KYLES ANDERSON) and for the brother of her great-grandmother (THOMAS KYLES who married KATIE GEE). The certificates are from 1879 and 1882 respectively . Although signed by different pastors, both signers showed their residence as 350 West 40th Street with one certificate stating that the pastor came from the German M. E. Church which I assume is for Methodist Episcopal. Relatives of these families worshiped at the Chelsea ME Church it seems that I am on the right track. I am hoping to find records of this church as we have no idea as to dates of death for the parents of the Kyles siblings nor do we have their date of marriage or place of birth in Ireland. Is there any chance of finding any of these records in New York City or through the Family History Library? These families lived all over Hell's Kitchen from 1860 on. and one of the Anderson granddaughters still lives in the neighborhood. Thanks to all. -- Steve Morgan Wilmington North Carolina -- Steve Morgan Wilmington North Carolina
You could make things easier by giving the names of the pastors...
