Following Bobbi's suggestion to me on the list. One pastor signed J. Kolb, whom I believe was Jacob Kolb, who later was associated with an ME parish in the South Bronx. The other signature is very difficult to read. It starts with a big circular "flourish" and ends with ttlander. If it is of interest to anyone I could scan the license and post it if anyone wants to take a stab at his name. Thanks to all -- Steve Morgan Wilmington North Carolina
Hi Steve, It was the Second German Methodist Church, 1858 Ninth Avenue & W. 40th Street. The church closed after 1940. The records are at the NY Public Library. Among the pastors were Jacob Kolb & Paul Quattländer (Quattlaender.)
