I found your frederick Carter on a passenger list dated January 6, 1909. The ship was the Teutonic. It says his name is Frederick Anthony Carter, Male, Single, Occupation: footman, can read and write, last permanent address was London and his nearest relative in England was his uncle George Carter...the address is hard to read but it looks like: Birchclone, Gilbert Rd, Bournemouth. His final destination is New York. Place of birth is Sturminster Martter. The ships arrival date is January 14, 1909. Unfortunetely, I didnt find a Fred or Frances on the 1920 or 1930 census. Maybe someone else will have better luck.
