    3. As a result of following through with a witness on the 1917 marriage certificate, Walter KENT, who arrived at Ellis Island in 1916, the record shows Walter was the half/step brother of the groom Frederick Anthony Carter. Walter Kent it seems was at Queens in time to be counted in the Federal 1930 census. Details of which are below:- Walter, his wife and son are on lines 43 to 45 located at Queens, New York, 227 street, Laurelton Walter Kent (head) age 30, married,(age 20 when first married ie around 1910), born England, became a US citizen in 1916, (immigration date) occupation Policeman, he was also a veteran of the US Army or Navy during WW1. Walter's wife is shown as Mabel age 32, (married when she was 22) born in Sweden There's a son Edward F. age 8 (1922) born in Delaware. I have checked out the New York indexes and it seems the 1922 marriage did not take place within New York, the clue perhaps in Delaware where their son was born? If Walter Kent was a New York policeman in 1930 are there records of his service available? Walter states he was in the US military for WW1 so wouldn't his draft papers be available? For the marriage and birth of their son in Delaware is there another Rootsweb message list I should join and ask questions about possible records within that State? cheers Bob
