    3. Hi Kim, I am not aware of any general online database showing those 2 families in Hessen. And a database in English language is another "challenge"! Margaret Suter most likely came from Darmstadt, not Dermstadt. Although I am not familiar with Hessen research, I believe, there is neither an online database not a printed book with the data for Darmstadt. Darmstadt is a town within Hessen with a 100000+ population - see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darmstadt The German researchers typically collect and document their research data (to be published) for a single parish. There are some online data bases for Hessen: http://www.ortsfamilienbuecher.de/ Scroll down to the "Hessen" group and select one of the parishes. But there are much more printed books for the Hessen federal state: http://wiki-de.genealogy.net/Kategorie:Ortsfamilienbuch_zu_Hessen So you first need to find out, where exactly your ancestor came from and then try to get the matching book (if available). Probably your best chance to find your ancestors is to join a specific Hessen mailing list, but again, sorry, only German: http://list.genealogy.net/mm/listinfo/hessen-l Maybe this was of some help?
