The best way to search brides & grooms indexes is using http://www.stevemorse.org There whether you are using the brides or grooms indexes there is a link To the right of each entry that comes up and most times you will find the Name of the spouse. Having worked on some of the records I can tell you first hand that some are almost indeciperable. Add to that occasionally in the marriage index men are listed in the brides index and women are listed in the groom's. My advice for people who are having problems finding the record that they want is to check by the first name if it is not like Mary or John. The number of pages you have to look through should be manageable. If the last name is long, try looking for a couple of the letters and add an "*". And if you are looking for a marriage, try the groom's index for a bride, the bride's index for a groom. Who knows, you may get lucky.
