This weekend Turner Classic Movies [TCM] will air the silent movie "Speedy" starring Harold Lloyd. ["Speedy", Sunday, July 11, 8 pm in NYC.] I have never seen it [or heard of it] before. My interest in watching this movie now has been prompted by the promos I have seen, including "fascinating views of NYC as it looked in the late 1920's", and to paraphrase another, you're looking at people living their lives back in time. My interest in family history research goes beyond the names, events, dates and places. I am interested in my ancesters' lives, and the environments they lived in, among other things. I am sure that I have plenty of company in this respect. The time period of this movie is of particular interest to me because it was when my immigrant grandparents were raising their families in NYC. -- Maria
