BY saying Fritz Gunther was born 1835/1840 and immigrated to the US and then saying his brother went to the UK from switzerlasnd after 1840 suggest you do not have any records whatsever on the Gunthers. If Fritz brother went to the UK he des not show in records. A serach for Gunthers in the US is meningless unless you have more information what happened to his brother in the UK ?? Fritz's brother Charles/Carl was born in Switzerland in c1835/40 according to the UK census returns. He went to live in Flint, Flintshire, North Wales where he died in 1896. He had a large family and his descendants live there today. This is my friend's ancestry and he said he read somewhere Charles/Carl had a brother who emigrated to Rochester, NYC. If there are no records to search then it doesn't matter. I just thought it worth a mention on his behalf. Sorry about that.
