Hi all, I realized yesterday that some of the people listed in my file who were primarily associated with the province of Quebec in Canada as far as I knew at the time were actually living in Brooklyn. In particular, Thomas William STONEHOUSE, his wife Mary Ellen (FORD) STONEHOUSE, their daughter Stella STONEHOUSE, their son William STONEHOUSE, and Mary's siblings Elizabeth FORD, Margaret/Rita FORD, and George FORD. Thomas William STONEHOUSE was back living in Canada when he died and is buried there at Notre Dame des Neiges, as are one son who died young in Montreal and one daughter who died in Brooklyn (Agnes Victoria Florence STONEHOUSE). I've been trying to find a death date for Mary Ellen (FORD) STONEHOUSE, and now wonder if perhaps she died during the time they were living in Brooklyn. I don't see any burial records for her in the Drouin collection (i.e. Quebec Catholic parish registers), and she doesn't appear to be buried at Notre Dame des Neiges either. As they were Catholic, if she did die in Brooklyn, she might perhaps have been buried in a Catholic cemetery in the area. In 1900, the family is living at 148 Fulton Street in Brooklyn. In 1910, they are living at 188 Fulton Street in Brooklyn. Where would the closest Catholic cemeteries to those locations be? I'm quite familiar with searching Jewish cemeteries in the NYC area, but have no knowledge whatsoever of the Catholic cemeteries. I would appreciate any tips that you might be able to offer for finding the right cemetery. -- Mary
