Subject: Looking for SULLiVANS...., Margaret b. Nyc 1888, Daniel b. NYC 1892 and Patrick b. NYC 1896 I hoping to connect with a relative/descendent of the Daniel Sullivan, b. 1892/NYC Alice Mc Phillips b.1893,NYC and family. They married approx. 1910, in NYC and first child Daniel died about 15 months old in 1913, in NYC. he is buried with his grandmother, Nora/Hanora (Mulcahy) Sullivan/Carmody who was married to a John Carmody at time of her death in 1914. They are all in Cavalry cemetery. Nora was born in Kanturk, Cork, and came to USA in approx 1885 they also had a cousin Ellen living with the familv according to census (see below) E. 99th Sr & 2nd Ave. according to 1910 NY census. Nora had a brother Denis , and he along with wife and Mother moved to San Francisco in 1890. Daniel had brother Patrick b. 1896, and he died in later 1930's or early 1940, he also had a sister Margaret b.1888, all in NYC.If Margaret married I have no married name for her. Their Father, John Sullivan had died by 1900, leaving their Mother, Nora, a widow with 3 children. Nora arrived in NYC abt. 1884, from Kanturk,Cork married shortly after to John Sullivan. She had had 8 children with John but only 3 survived, and later had 3 more children with only one survivor, born in 1902 after marrying John Carmody. Also looking for info on the sister Margaret Sullivan to see who ?? or if she married and any relations. Margaret born in 1888 in NYC, lived on 2nd Ave. in 1910 census,. The census has her and bothers as last name Carmody and she is married, however, she was not at the time. census taker misunderstood.. However, they were the Sullivan children from Nora , when she married Carmody, and a reason for confusion if anyone else looking for this family. Census takers didn't always get the info straight or sometimes asked a neighbor who thought they knew, or maybe just misunderstood. I am pretty sure there was a son named Thomas of either Daniel or Patrick who once worked for the Manhattan Funeral Home on 3rd Ave., back in the 1960-70 time frame, as he helped make my Fathers arrangements. But I never got to talk with him about family as so many problems were going on at the time.Alice Mc Phillips and family found in 1920 census but I haven't found anymore. If anyone can relate to this info, I would appreciate contact for exchange of genealogical info. Any info appreciated and possibly knock down another brick in a very thick wall from when search started in late 1960's. Thank you for reading and any help.
