Hi All, I'm researching New York for family history. The DYCKMAN'S owned alot of land and built bridges and hi-ways. 72nd street to Harlem Heights for one, whether that's true? Museums and statues honouring the family from ARW. Anyone have information, please send. Thanks for reading this. HI there I do not have the specific information that you listed (the lot), but I am a descendent from the Dyckman family through Maria Dyckman. She married my ancestral relative John Clark in Newtown Long Island in 1771. I am a Chapman and my great-grandfather married a daughter of John Vermilyea Clark, descended from John Clark. A descendant, a Walter Clark compiled a Clark genealogy in 1938, which I have. It was kept up more or less through the 5th generation. Most of the information I have on the Dyckmans stems from interest in the mansion Boscobel, built by Staates Dyckman, brother of Maria and is from the internet and newspaper articles. Do you have any other information? Here is what the 1st paragraph says, by way of introduction: "...He (John Clark) settled in the Province of New York and three years later (from ~1768) he married in the Presbyterian Church, Newtown, Long Island, Maria, daughter of Jacob and Catalina (Benson) Dyckman, and great-grand-daughter of Jan Dyckman, one of the Patentees of New Harlem". He built a home at Mr. Airy (Crugers) in the town of Corlandt, according to notes in this genealogy. I look forward to hearing more of your own researches on the Dyckmans.
