Hello, I am pretty new to this geneology stuff. Here is what I have found and maybe someone can point me to the next step. My grandpa came to MN on the orphan train from NYC. I recently located his birth certificate by contacting the hospital and having them look at records to get names to order a birth certificate. We were always told that his name was Francis braun. It turns out that his mother's name was Frances Braun, she was 17 when she had him and Charles Muller was listed as the father with an unknown address. Her address is listed. His real name or birth name was John Braun. On one website it is listed as Broun. Dec 1894. I see that he is in MN when he was 5 with the Bruggenthies Family on the 1900 census. How can I find any more information on his mother? Maybe she didn't list her real name? I do have an address for her on the birth certificate.
