Walter ~ I found one indexed as "Harman" Otten in the 1880 census,age 50, with a wife Annie age 47, and children Annie,age 21; Mary, age 18; Emma, age 12 and George H.age 9. He and his wife and their parents were all listed as having been born in Hanover. He was listed as a retail grocer. There are several naturalization index cards for Otten on Footnote.com, including the following where Herman is a witness for a John Wintjen: W532 Wintjen John court: Common pleas court, NY County date of naturaliz:   Dec 8 1863 Bundle #286 page # [-].  Copy of record # 35.1 address of naturalized person: 6 Roosevelt St., NYC Former nationality: English Witness:  Herman Otten 14 Franklyn St. NYC   There are 2 index cards for 2 Herman Otten's, one dated 1855, one dated 1882.  There's also an Otto F.
