seems like all that has to be done is get one birth cert for his kids such as George which will give the mothers maiden name. Since both Herman and his wife are from Hanover getting Herman's wife maiden name would get him that much closer to finding point of origin for Herman and his wife........ I checked familysearch.org and the birth records of a couple of Herman's kids are listed. I thought there might be copies of naturalization docs online but haven't found any so far.
Or find the naturalization docs. One of my German ancestors was naturalized in 1855 and papers showed arrival date and general place of origin. From arrival date u can search passenger lists online...which may give more info on origin plus who he was traveling with. ...Kim Sent from my iPhone On May 18, 2011, at 2:43 PM, Rdpiet@aol.com wrote: > seems like all that has to be done is get one birth cert for > his kids such as George which will give the mothers maiden > name.
