    3. Hullo there - thankyou for your input Mary GREVE was born c 1795 in Hannover, Germany - possibly near Bremen. She married Cord Friedrich GREVE and after having had several children in Hannover they migrated to South Australia. Her husband Cord/Cordi/Cort , died in South Australia in 1857. I have found a Mary GREVE in Ohio, but can't be certain she is mine. There are no other US family living in Ohio, but that doesn't mean anything! Reasons for sons living in NJ and PA is that Henry married Sophie SURGANTY in Elmira, NY - they had two sons Frank and Harry. The family then returned to South Australia in 1877 - Henry's home state. Henry and Sophie had several children - one of whom was Joseph. Harry and Frank returned to US - Frank joined the Navy and was killed on the SS Maine in Havana Harbour, Cuba (Beginning of the Spanish-American War) Harry, his brother,, joined the 3rd Pennsylvania Volunteers, returned at some stage to PA and married and lived in Reading. His younger brother Joseph left South Australia and settled in NJ. I will only be able to progress with my GREVE search when I find the ship that Mary travelled on from London, UK - it may just give me her forwarding address and therefore her sons - I have not been able to find her on the 1870 Census and I can't find her sons because I don't know their names - all a bit of a brick wall really But I hope there is someone who will be able to help me. Have you tried US census records ?? He was companion to his grandmother Mary GREVE aged approx 70 years old. She left Adelaide, Sth Australia to join her sons in New York. The names of these sons are not known. What information, if any do you need on Henry's children ?? Seems odd that Harry would return to Australia in 1877 and sons are in NJ and PA.... One of Henry's sons Joseph lived in New Jersey, another Harry lived in Reading, PA, the eldest, Frank, died on the SS Maine _____ No virus found in this message.
