The 1880 Census for NY, NY (Manhattan) lists this household: Joseph E. LAMRRELL, age 43 & hus wife Charlotte LAMRRELL, age 63 She was b. Charlotte MENONAY who m. Jean FRECHETTE, 1835 in Montreal. Charlotte apparently married LAMRRELL in NY after Jean FRECHETTE's death. Her son and grandson were also in the household. Can anyone determine when Joseph & Catherine married? >1850. Norman Cazavan
hi- I believe the last name is actually Lamprell,by looking at the census image. And that Joseph remarried about 1880, as I find a Joseph E. Lamprell in 1900, remarried, tho' it has the marriage year as 1879, I'm assuming he remarried about 1880? Also I find that a Joseph E Lamprell died in NY in 1902. On Family Search, I find a Jos Lamprell with Charlotte, as well as two children Malvinia and Joseph who are probably Frechettes, as Joseph is only a few years older than they are on the 1870 census, so they are married by then, and according to the 1900 census, Joseph immigrated to the US in 1870 from England(I'm assuming though he could have gone to Canada from England).
