The message below about ME church records has one very out of date piece of information. The New York Genealogical & Biographical Society sold its building on E 58th St some years ago. All of their records are now at the New York Public Library, and the staff there has done a bang-up job cataloging them. You still need to contact the NY Public Library ahead of time or check their catalog on line to make sure the records are stored on site and do not need to be brought from another location for your use.
