Hello I am hoping that some one out there either has a listing knows where I can find a listing of those buried in the cemetery associated with Trinity Church. Specifically I am looking for information on one James McCaw(McCaa). A British Officer during the American Revolution who died in NYC in early 1777. He arrived there in transport "Peggy" and died within six weeks of arrival. I do not know how he died-disease, battle etc. He was a surgeon on the staff of Sir Henry Clinton. Any info concerning him would be appreciated. Douglas Burnett Satellite Beach FL
I found your frederick Carter on a passenger list dated January 6, 1909. The ship was the Teutonic. It says his name is Frederick Anthony Carter, Male, Single, Occupation: footman, can read and write, last permanent address was London and his nearest relative in England was his uncle George Carter...the address is hard to read but it looks like: Birchclone, Gilbert Rd, Bournemouth. His final destination is New York. Place of birth is Sturminster Martter. The ships arrival date is January 14, 1909. Unfortunetely, I didnt find a Fred or Frances on the 1920 or 1930 census. Maybe someone else will have better luck. Bob, If you have access to ancestry.com, you should be able to search the 1920 US Census. Also, they have the 1918 WWI Draft Registration which Is easy to search. Hope this is helpful to you. This confirmed her full name, her parent's names and her age of 30 in April 1917 (1887) when the marriage took place, So this is definitely my missing Lady. Of interest however is that the certificate very clearly states her husband's full name was Frederick Anthony CARTER (not "CAREER" as the Brides Index stated) Frederick Anthony CARTER in 1917 is described as being 37 years of age, (1880) white, single, with an occupation of valet. He like Frances was also born in England but in the county of Dorset. It was the first marriage for both. The marriage took place 25th April 1917 at the Church of Heavenly Rest in Manhattan. Since receiving the certificate I have found Frederick's UK birth registration at Wimborne, Dorset England, listed in the 1881, 1891 and 1901 census where his birthplace is listed as Sturminster Marshall, Dorset. Also Fredererick Carter travelled to New York in 1911 from Liverpool, listed as a passeger on board the Teutonic. However big problem now being where are the couple when the 1920 USA Federal Census was undertaken? Hi Bobbi, Some of us researchers send missing names of Brides and Grooms, as well as spelling corrections, when viewing certificates, to IGG and GGG. Barb NYC Researcher =================== > Hi Diane, > > The index on the German Genealogy Group & the Italian Genealogy Group is > updated. > > Now find Kings County brides from 1871-1918 & 1928-1937. > > Bobbi
Ive posted this person before but its been awhile so I thought I would try again. Im trying to locate info on my grandfathers aunt, Ida Easterby. I found her on the 1892 New York census age 3. I also found her on the 1900 New York census b. July 1889. Her last name on the 1900 census is spelled Esterby. Ive seen family members spell the name both ways. I cant find her on any other census. I cant find a marraige record, birth or death record. The story I heard was that her mother Mary Easterby died in 1902 and after that the father and children drifted apart. Her parents were Hans and Mary Easterby. After mary died I found all the siblings on the 1910 census with the exception of Ida. I found Hans living in East Northport, Long Island (where my family still lives). I have tracked down the living family members of all her other siblings with the exception of one sister Dora. I have Dora up until the 1930 census but cant find any living family for her. Ida is my brick wall. Im assuming she got married before 1910 but I cant find a marriage record. I figured I would post this again in the hope that someone might recognize the name. Thanks. Kim
Also, find the website fultonhistory.org or oldfultonhistory.org Click on the postcard and then you will find a newspapers database for NY State newspapers on the upper left hand. Search it and you may find An obituary for him. Never give up there are always new databases coming online. I would also suggest that you subscribe to the rootsweb.com mailing list For Buffalo and/or Erie County and ask for help there. Hello list I hope it is ok to post this link here. Anyone who have searched for family in Clare Ireland will know how hard it is, as there are not many available online. This petition has been going for some time and there are still people signing it. I was advised to leave it on as long as people were signing it. I think it is now time to take it off and send it to people and societys who care. Maybe they will be able to do something with it for our good. http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/county-clare-records/signatures.html
Do a two step request via LDS......... Fill oout the form and give them the film nr, date, and name and u will get the cert nr. Then, get the cert. I'm turning to you once again. There's usually a kind person who comes through. My grandfather's sister gave birth to a child in Manhattan on 13 Aug. 1888, named Rudolph Kern. Father Rudolph Kern, mother Charlotte Lazarus. I have the film number, FHL #1323480, courtesy of the LDS. I someone is going to the Municipal Archives, would they be willing to do a lookup in the index for me. All I need is the certificate number, and then I'll get the photocopy from the LDS.

Dear Lorraine & Michelle, Thank you for trying, but I do have all the family information. I was looking for the pictured news clipping of Charles Anderson's parade funeral. I thought someone may have access to old newspapers on the web. Oh well, again thank you so much. I'm stuck...kept googling all sorts of combinations. Also tried www.fultonhistory.com - but there were over 5000 possible articles...
