My family was always in NYC, yet when my dad died, we found out my parents married in Elkton, MD. People used to call it "Marry-land" because you could drive there from NY and get married right away, no blood tests, nothing. We also found out after he died that they married the year AFTER they always said. My mom was pregnant with my brother! Might be worth checking other parts of NY as already suggested, or other states. - Irene
Hello and thank you to all who offered help with my efforts to get the ship's passenger list for my Halecka family! Altho I had the basic information, I really like the look of those old passenger manifests & like to have a copy. THank you to all. Nancy
Riverside Drive is in upper Manhattan. I used to work right by Trinity Church. The graves were on the North side of the church. There were some along side it on the South, but the majority were on the North side. Bobbi
Doug, Yes. (Is this the same Trinity that is listed as Trinity Church at Broadway and Wall Street?) Trinity Place is parallel to and one block west of Broadway. Because of the Trinity Cemetery, located to the south of Trinity Church, the western end of Wall Street terminates at Broadway. Google "74 Trinity Place New York, NY" and the map that appears shows how the streets line up. Regards, Walter Greenspan Great Falls, MT & Jericho, NY </HTML>

Hi Bob, Keep in mind, just because it says "New York" doesn't necessarily mean New York City. I was able to get info from Trinity CHurch Cemetary Mausoleum 770 Riverside Dr, NY, NY 10032 phone 212-368-1600 I called them and they faxed me records within about 30 minutes...got a complete listing of all people buried in our plot and any other records, letters etc that were in the file. Hi Listers, The New York marriage certificate arrived in Australia today for my Frances Adeline STACY....... This confirmed her full name, her parent's names and her age of 30 in April 1917 (1887) when the marriage took place, So this is definitely my missing Lady. Of interest however is that the certificate very clearly states her husband's full name was Frederick Anthony CARTER (not "CAREER" as the Brides Index stated) Frederick Anthony CARTER in 1917 is described as being 37 years of age, (1880) white, single, with an occupation of valet. He like Frances was also born in England but in the county of Dorset. It was the first marriage for both. The marriage took place 25th April 1917 at the Church of Heavenly Rest in Manhattan. Since receiving the certificate I have found Frederick's UK birth registration at Wimborne, Dorset England, listed in the 1881, 1891 and 1901 census where his birthplace is listed as Sturminster Marshall, Dorset. Also Fredererick Carter travelled to New York in 1911 from Liverpool, listed as a passeger on board the Teutonic. However big problem now being where are the couple when the 1920 USA Federal Census was undertaken? Any Clues Folks? cheers Bob Campbell in Australia
