    2. I am hoping someone will be able to help me with this. On the 1870 census for Manhattan, all I have is... Ward # - 20 Enumeration District # - 15 House # - 26 Any one have the secret formula to figure it out? I'll even take the 'area' for an answer. Thanks so much. Kathleen~CT.

    3. There is an Edward Tracy, Laborer, listed in the 1869 NYC Directory at 311 7th Ave. That would be in the 20th ward if the street numbering is still the same. 3. The 2nd enumeration of the 1870 census has the street names. If you have access to Ancestry.com, click on US census collection, then 1870. On the right side under Browse select New York then NY County, then scroll down to 20th ward, 15th district and and 2nd enumeration. Now all you have to do is search through till you find your family, hopefully on page 1 or 2, there's 105. 1. [NYC-ROOTS] Irish-language Mass at the Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral - Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Noon
    2. Jim Garrity
    3. Dear Friends, On Saturday, March 12, 2011, at noon, on Mott Street between Prince and Houston streets, for the fourth consecutive year, the New York Irish History Roundtable, Sir Patrick Charities, Glucksman Ireland House-NYU, and the Basilica of Saint Patrick’s Old Cathedral will celebrate an Irish-language Mass. The Mass will be concelebrated by Fr. Aidan O’Driscoll of County Cork. There will be Irish liturgical music by Cantor Paddy Connolly with accompaniment by Jared Lamenzo on the Cathedral’s historic 1868 Erben organ. There will be readings in Irish by New York University’s Pádraig Ó Cearúill and Clare Curtin, longtime member and former trustee of the New York Irish History Roundtable. Following the Mass, the Washington Square Harp & Shamrock Orchestra will entertain the crowd with live ceili music. We will have the Ridgewood (New Jersey) Irish Dance Troupe with us again this year. And, last but not least – with thanks to Patrick Allen, KHS – Da Nico Ristorante of Little Italy provided a buffet at last year’s celebration and we hope to have them with us again this year. So, we will enjoy the Mass, followed by ceili (great music), craic (great conversation), dancing, Irish soda bread, food, and beverages. Come and join us to celebrate the Feast of Saint Patrick! There is absolutely no charge to attend. Free-will contributions will be gratefully accepted.

    2. John McManus
    3. Good afternoon, I've just restarted researching on my father's side of the McManus family. His father was a John L. McManus as was his father. My problem lies in finding any information on John's siblings. In the 1910 census, the family is listed as living at 161East 103rd St. in Manhattan Catherine (Molloy) McManus b. c1853 (Mother) Elizabeth McManus b. 1885 Thomas J. McManus b. 1887 William McManus b. 1893 (may have served in the army in WWI) William was the last family member still living with his mother in 1930. My grandfather John L. was living away at the time of the 1910 census, eventually dying in late Dec. 1916 I need the listings for this family in the 1880 and 1920 census. Any other assistance would be deeply appreciated. Thanks, John John L. McManus, MAT, MLIS Director Millinocket Memorial Library 5 Maine Avenue Millinocket, ME 04462
