    3. It is my understanding that you cannot order the hard copy of the death certificate without paying and therefore you will be using a third party --vital check. Perhaps you could request the certificate from the state in which the person died. Costs and avialability will, of course, depend on the laws of that state. >I said I wanted a SS death record not the SS 5 (application) > direct from the SSA. > > ***************************************************************** > Try this site: > > http://genealogy.about.com/od/online_records/a/ss5_request.htm > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <Rdpiet@aol.com> > To: <nyc-roots@rootsweb.com>; <cdfamily@davidandcarole.info> > Sent: Sunday, April 17, 2011 11:47 AM > Subject: Re: [NYC-ROOTS] SS death records > > >> Nope, that don't work. 1. Re: [NYC-ROOTS] ancestry library edition and ancestry.com
    2. Effective this date ancestry library edition output has changed. Prior to today when searching and entering a name, eg. Jacob Smith, b 1865; the out put was all recordfs hitting those parametes. Starting today, the output has been indiviual records, i.e. census, military, immigration., etc only. My questions is, have these changes also been effected on ancestry.com or are they restricted to ancestry library edition. Thanks

    1. [NYC-ROOTS] trying to find Eugene Patrick Molloy, b 1934, Ireland, living in Bronx, ca. 1960s-1990s
    2. Thanks so much, Lily. Everything we try leads us right back to Peoplesmart or Italius. My friend already paid money to PeopleSmart, whereupon they told him they really had no info on the person listed. What a racket! Sorry I was not clear before. I feel I have exhausted the Internet, including Ancestry. What I need is for a LOCAL person to check the phone books or call a local library that would still hold the slightly older ones. I have a clue that he might have moved up to White Plains ca 2002. Or he may be dead (and not in SS death index), and his widow (probably Josephine) is now out on Long Island. Thank you all for all your tries. 3. Intelius will sell it to you for $1.95. That's Eugene Molloy, age 76, with wife named Josephine. Intelius appears to return listing information when your target has a listed land line (I tested that with folk I know in NYC) but charges you when the information is found in another way. I did find a listing for Josephine Molloy, but it is in Little Neck. The other free white page search engines all seem to have disappeared. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Rdpiet@aol.com> To: <knowltonew@earthlink.net>; <nyc-roots@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, April 11, 2011 7:59 AM Subject: Re: [NYC-ROOTS] Eugene Patrick Molloy, b 1934, Ireland, living in Bronx Eugene Molloy 12 Apr 1934 66017 Broadway 7l Bronx NY 10471 No phone numer listed. 2. Lilly Martin
    3. Hello Elizabeth and all others, Usually we are looking for dead relatives but sometimes we need to find relatives who are alive. http://veromi.net This website is FREE to search. Go ahead and do a search on yourself, or people you know. You will find them, their relatives listed, usually spouse and kids, but sometimes a parent. You will find the places they have lived. Use the information as your 'base' to begin investigating. www.zabasearch.com This website is FREE to search. You will find people, their address and sometimes telephone numbers. You will find a bit of 'history', for example birth date, or year, and their will be a date given sometimes to a particular address. For example: you might find several addresses listed for the same person, but one will be dated 2001 and the next 2009. So you can work on the newer address. After you do veromi, then zabasearch, then progress to a more normal "phone-book" which would be for example: www.anywho.com , or there are others. Maybe google for "online telephone address directory". DO NOT forget FACEBOOK. I have found everyone on facebook. Even people in the 80's are on, trying to stay in touch with grandkids, and other relatives.
