I found out that my great-grandfather, Patrick J. Houlihan, lived in Binghamton, possibly as early as 1912 until the 30's/40's. He was a fireman, and I'd like to find employment records on him. Since he was an Irish immigrant who served in WWI, maybe the records will lead to naturalization info as well as the exact place of his birth. I also discovered that there were many other Houlihans that worked for the fire dept., so I'd like to prove their relation to him. Does anyone know how I can obtain fire department employment records? The only address I found so far was for the Binghamton City Clerk on Hawley St. Is this in City Hall, and would it be the correct office to contact? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, C.
