On 4 March 1687 he and others were granted a parcel of lande one mile square in the western and northwesterly part of Branford, and he became one of its first settlers. He lived at Hopyard Plain, called also Hoppit and Hoppin Plain, and was killed under a hay mow. His inventory dated 16 December 1714 amounted to £1,087.
