Town Historians are responsible for cemeteries that are still in use, but I suspect they can only make their limited budgets go so far. The towns are responsible for maintenance of abandoned cemeteries...are to mow 3 times a year. Town Historians are not responsible for this. But most of us have limited budgets. However, most of us encourage our town boards to budget monies for mowing and maintenance. Our town mows at least 5 times a year. Chris Town of Barker Town Clerk & Historian
