Hello, I just wanted to add a few tidbits of information about the extended HUTCHINSON family. As I've already mentioned, the 3 siblings were part of the large farm in what became Winchester, MA. Three siblings remained; three moved to NYC, then Brooklyn. It seems the 3 families in Brooklyn remained close, but they also seemed to remain close to their relatives in Winchester. And, I'm thinking they already had "money" when they moved to NY, and they made "more" in NY. Summarizing, the oldest brother, John Bonner HUTCHINSON,* b~1817 in MA, and his wife, Ruthy (WYMAN), had 3 children. A son, John, a son, Edward, and a daughter, Sarah. With the help of researchers, I found out that Sarah married Walter WELLINGTON from MA. He seems to have moved to Brooklyn around Age 30 while single. .. The son, John, married Gertrude (unknown), and they only had daughters. Census records say Gertrude was born in VT. The son, Edward, married Effie (TOOMES) in NY, and they had a son, John, and a daughter, Sarah. In 1898, in NY, Sarah married Louis CHASE from Cambridge, MA. Shortly after 1900, Edward and Effie's family moved to Cambridge. One possible reason is that their son was to attend .. Harvard University. In 1905 John B. Hutchinson (b1880) graduated with an AB. So far, I'm not seeing any indication that he married. But I'm not finding him after 1920. .. Unfortunately, Louis and Sarah CHASE were in a terrible car / train accident near Worcester, MA. She died the next day at the hospital, and he was seriously injured. He might have been disabled for a few yrs., but I believe he remarried later. So far I'm not seeing any mention of children for the couple. Edward and Effie lived to see Age 70 in Cambridge, and they are buried at the Mount Auburn Cemetery. I'm hoping to visit the cemetery to see if I can find out who is buried with them. ** By the way, the marriage announcement for Louis and Sarah made it to the "NY Times." And, it mentioned the names of Sarah's cousins and other bridesmaids. Betty (near Lowell, MA) *One of the things which I never tried to find out is why the oldest child of Thomas and Betsey (HOMER) HUTCHINSON was given the middle name, Bonner. Either Thomas or Betsey's families must have known a BONNER family. **Edward's cousin from the farm families in Winchester is also buried in that famous cemetery. He was Dr. Leslie Loring HUTCHINSON, a Podiatrist in Cambridge.
