    3. Dear David, ? I read your posts online about WILLS & Probate records. ? Last week I drove to Goshen NY in search of a WILL or Letter of Administration for Irish immigrant, a resident farmer, Patrick McGHAN [family also spelled McGANN/McGAHAN and deriv.], who died between 1875 and 1880.?In 1880 the wife Rebecca is listed as a widow. ? After a thorough search of the Index Books, I found no?records pertaining to him. ? The farm was certainly valuable, and by 1880 his son ran it. ? What would you suggest that I search next??Before Patrick's move to Orange County, he served in the Civil War?and resided in Ossining, Westchester, New York. ? Is it possible that his WILL was probated in another county?? I don't have an OBIT or DC, although I certainly tried finding both. ? Thank you for your advice, Barb.
