Dear Listers; Today is one of the saddest days in the HISTORY of not only the United States but the world. As was any of the wars our ancestors, fathers, brothers uncles, cousins, etc, have fought and died for, the only difference is WE have experienced this horrific history through our own eyes, ears and most importantly, our hearts first hands. As we pay tribute on Veterans Day, Memorial Day, VD Day, we pay tribute now to the events of September 11. You must remember, this is a tragedy that is being focused on in schools, across our town halls and parks across not only our great nation BUT the world nations themselves. We live history on these lists, we search our past, combing through time for events of the past, so we may connect to our lives, our children's future. The past doesn't need to be a hundred years old. Yesterday was the past, last night was the past, the moment this letter is sent it is in the past..It is history, it is a memory in the winds of time. This is not political, this is REMEMBERANCE. There are families grieving this morning who lost family members and friends..I for one am one of them..and I'll be damned if I let anyone take away the tribute to these innocent men, women and children whose lives were sacrificed in the name of a religious faction. As I asked you to fly a flag on July 4th, or visit a veteran's grave, I will ask you today to take those moments of silence , no matter where you are, and remember those whose lives were lost. As with WW2, we must never forget. We need to learn from these tragedies, we need to stand as a whole, not only as a nation, but as a people, as part of the human race. We can only make change, when we remember the pain of the past. Nancy **************Psssst...Have you heard the news?
