I felt a little stupid yesterday when I was leaving for work (late) and lamented to my daughter that I wasn't going to have time to run out back and lower the flag to half staff and she told me (here's what made me feel good)..."Mom, the President determines and declares when flags fly at half staff and I haven't heard him make that declaration this time". I'd forgotten that (I'm getting old and forgetting and re-remembering lots of things) but was glad and proud my daughter knows it.
