Barb: I noticed you posted some Meehan information on the Brooklyn listserv that you had transcribed. Do you have any Meehan connections yourself? My great-grandmother was Ellen Meehan (born about 1848 in Ireland, daughter of John Meehan and Catherine/Ellen Griffin). Ellen came to the US maybe around 1870 (nothing definite) and married Peter Brennan in 1876. Ellen and Peter had 4 children who survived to adulthood. They lived primarily in the Irishtown section of Brooklyn -- Gold Street near St. Anne's RC Church, then later North Oxford Street, on the other side of the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Ellen died in 1919 from complications from the Spanish flu epidemic. Just thought I'd check to see you had an interest in the Meehans at all or know of anyone out there who does.
