    3. If I look up my name at whitepages.com, all my info is listed plus a map to my house. Nekko and Ancestry are right -- it's all public info. However, I thought privacy settings were the norm? I've never uploaded anything to Ancestry, but I have at GenCircles.com (many years ago), and even if I didn't use the privacy settings in my program (Reunion), they employ them anyhow. They won't show the birth years of living people, for instance. In fact, they don't even use the first name, calling them 'Living [Surname].' Maybe Ancestry has a similar feature, but you have to opt in? As all the info is publicly available, though, I'm not sure how it all matters. All the info in my tree on living family members can be found elsewhere quickly, easily, and for free. In fact, I have found a number of 'new' cousins in the last 9 months, and I contacted them all through whitepages.com. Whitepages.com even tells you ages, who else is in the household, and other addresses that person used in the past. (Seems intrusive, but it's helpful if you want to make sure it's the John Smith who used to live in Shreveport, for example.) On top of regular public info, most people under 40 are on Facebook, Friendster, MySpace or LinkedIn anyhow -- you can find and contact anyone, anywhere. Unless their number is unlisted or they're off the grid...their info is out there, and there's no taking it back. 3. Just go to Google, enter your phone number and see what happens. Very interesting!
