I was born in 1923 at St. Catherine's Hospital, Brooklyn. The hospital was torn down many years ago and the land is now occupied by a housing project. Where would I find the records of the hospital at this time? My initial birth certificate from the hospital spelled my name wrong but when I first saw it I just penned in a correction. This was good enough but when I had to have a security clearance it was not acceptable. My parents then got a corrected certificate from the city. I was living overseas at the time so they acted as my agents. The original certificate was apparently issued at the hospital for the city.
