This may sound like a really dumb question, but does anyone have any idea how one can track where/and by whom immigrant children were met and resided upon their arrival in the U.S., specifically in my case in 1854? I've searched Immigration records, city directories, of course Census records (but the closest Census was 6 years after they arrived). Obviously, well maybe not obviously, but probably arrangements were made for them (at age 15 and 11) to be met by an adult. Any thoughts as to where I might try? Thanks, Judy Cincinnati
